National Young Athletes Road Relay Championships

Another excellent day for our U13-U17 distance runners at Sutton Park on October 16th. Four teams achieving top 6 finishes was tremendous and the U13 Boys win was absolute class!

Added to that Ben Dijkstra broke the 2004 course record by six seconds with a scintillating display of front running and James Bell, Josh West and Alfie Thompson were all in the top 12 individual times on the day

There were numerous other super performances including Emily Sales, Amy Griffiths, Sam Elliott, George Bell and Fran Green on a day when once again we demonstrated our strength in depth across the age groups

LRRL Summer League Series

At last a chance to get everyone up to date with what's happened during September.

With the Masters taking 1st place and the Seniors 5th place at the final LRRL fixture at Countesthorpe both squads secured the Div 1 titles in their respective age groups. Congratulations and thanks to everyone who took part over the year.

At the Round Leicester relay we took 2nd place giving us a total of 4 first places and 2 second places over the last six years. We turned two complete teams out in the Midland 6 stage road relays with the A team qualifying for the National 6 stage road relays. Again thanks to everyone for their efforts.

The North Mids XC league starts at Markeaton Park Derby on Saturday Oct 8th. Other dates are Corby Nov 2nd.... RAF Cranwell Sleaford Dec 3rd.... Wollaton Park Nottingham Jan 14th. Jun. Sen and masters men start at 1.55pm. If anyone wants to do any of them it's the normal format of turn up and run and I collect the discs at the end of the race. Hope to see as many as possible there.
