Coritanian Men lift the Round Leicester relay title.

After around 93 miles of racing, Coritanian men’s squad took victory in the annual thirteen stage Round Leicester road relay race from a mixed Charnwood team . In the early stages of the race Coritanians built up a comfortable lead of about 10 minutes which gave them a buffer to withstand the pace set by a strong Charnwood middle section. This meant that Coritanians went into the last three legs with a deficit of three minutes. However, the race was to swing back in Coritanian’s favour on the eleventh leg and with two legs to go they found themselves six minutes up. This was to increase to fourteen minutes by the end of the race.

Charnwood took the mixed section with Hinckley coming second in the men’s class and Huncote Harriers third.
