Coritanian Men lift the British Masters M45 Cross Country Relay title

On Saturday November 17th  the Leicester Coritanian team of Gareth Deacon, Gordon Lee, Rob Sheen, Danny Keating and Chris Southam won the British Masters M45 Cross Country Relay title at Moorways Park, Derby to add to the road relay title the team won earlier in the year.

After Gareth took over the lead approximately half way round the first leg, the team were never to be headed. Gordon extended the lead on the second lap to give Rob, Danny and Chris the task of holding what lead they had. The only doubt about the result came at the end of the third leg when Rob was misdirected approaching the changeover  point and was sent the wrong way. The organisers acknowledged that the mistake was theirs and the result was academic. Gordon Lee achieved the fastest leg of the day.

This rounds off a fantastic year for the team which has won the Master's Division 1 combined winter and summer Leicester Road League after winning both the winter and summer leagues. They also won the East Midland Master's 4stage Road Relay's, the Midland Masters M45 4 stage Road Relay's and the Midland Counties Master's 6 stage Road  Relay's effectively making a clean sweep of their targeted races for the year.

Congratulations to the Master's Men and all their achievements this year!
