Jordan and Ben triumph at North Mids!

Jordan Waine U13g and Ben Dijkstra U15b took the honours at the latest North Midland's League race on Saturday 12th January at RAF Cranwell, Sleaford.

Jordan ran a tactically astute race to take victory in the U13 girls' race. She didn't panic when Jasmine Cooper from Derby made a determined break with 1.5k to go. She stuck to her task and reeled Jasmine back in and made her move with 300m to go. Winning by 5 seconds she also beat Jess Rattray from Charnwood who had previously beaten her at the Leicestershire & Rutland County Champs the previous week. This should certainly give her great confidence for the Midland Cross Country Championships in two weeks time.

The U15 boys' race was an extremely tight affair with the first four finishers all within 6 seconds of each other. Ben showed his strength in the sprint finish to take poll position ahead of Hugo Milner, Derby by 4 seconds. Alfie Thompson also ran a great race and finished in 4th place, 6 seconds behind Ben. Pascal Bouttier-Butler completed the boys' team in 7th place and that meant that the team were in first place in the day with 12 points leaving Derby in their wake with 23 points.

Following on from his bronze medal in the Leicestershire & Rutland County Champs, Harry Thompson U17 men had another good run to finish in 3rd place.

Full results as follows:
U13g Jordan Waine 1st place 10.54, Alison Curtis 6th place 11.49
U15g Mikela Gilmore 10th place 13.50
U15b Ben Dijkstra 1st place 16.50, Alfie Thompson 4th place 16.56, Pascal Bouttier-Butler 7th place 18.44
