PB's galore at BMC PB Classic at Corby! There were some fantastic results at the BMC PB Classic at Corby yesterday. No fewer than seven of the athletes achieved personal best performances and the others were only just outside of their best performances. With it being so early in the season this bodes really well for the coming weeks.
Mari Smith (U17 women) ran 2.09.67 for her 800m which has shot her to the top of the Powerof10 rankings in her age group. She ran a controlled race to finish in 5th place in the 'C' race and she was only a second outside her personal best performance.
Caelidh Ross (U17 women) was in the same race as Mari and her personal best time of 2.11.44 was enough to put her in 3rd place on the Powerof10 rankings behind Mari.
Following on from his pb at Birmingham on Wednesday night, Jonny Monk reduced his pb in the 800m by another 2 seconds! Jonny had been a little disappointed after his run in Birmingham, believing that he could've run quicker. He was not wrong and his time of 1.53.82 now puts him at 15th place on the Powerof10.
Both Fran Green (U15g) and Oliver Freer (U15b) took 5 seconds each off of their pb's. Fran's 1500m time was 5.02.24 and Oliver's 800m time was 2.30.38.
