Yorkshire Training Weekends

Yorkshire Training Weekends

Twice a year the endurance athletes go to the Yorkshire Dales with the aim of training hard but also to have a really good time! The usual format is to travel up on Friday and do a session climbing Pen-y-Ghent in the afternoon and then off to Hawes to settle in to our accommodation before a social evening which normally includes the traditional visit to the 'Chippy' for some proper Yorkshire fish and chips!

We then do a long session on Saturday including the climbing of Ingleborough and Whernside followed by a group meal in the evening and Bill and Ann's legendary quiz.

It's then off to the Howgill Fells on Sunday for another couple of hours in the hills to round off the weekend.

Taking a break at Ribblehead, the half way mark on the Saturday session and setting off past the viaduct after the rest with Whernside looming in the distance

Climbing the infamous bank of Whernside - guaranteed to spread everyone out and time for some well earned refreshment at the Hill Inn!
